The community is invited to attend the 23rd Annual Safe Communities Health and Safety Festival on Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This year the location has moved to Pathfinder Park to celebrate the Grand Opening of the new Rowland Heights Community Center. The Safe Communities Festival features more than 25 health and information booths, complimentary food and entertainment, public safety displays and demonstrations by community groups, Rowland Unified schools and public service organizations. The Festival celebrates the role all facets of the community plays in promoting a safe, secure and healthy environment for all to enjoy.

Complimentary food will be offered by Casa Blanca, The Sunset Room, Los Angeles County Parks & Recreation, Pizza Co., Mr. Lamb and Taquisa. 

9:30 AM          Nogales High School Orchestra performs.

10 AM             Grand Opening Ceremony!  

11 AM             Awards Ceremony for Safe Community Festival

Join RUSD Superintendent Dr. Julie Mitchell and the Operation Safe Community Co-Chairs Jennifer Kottke, Nancy Balantyne and Chief Don Fernald as they recognize RUSD student winners of the Safe Communities Festival poster contest and present Operation Safe Community Service Award Scholarships.

NOON            RUSD Mariachi performs!

1:15 PM          “Jaws of Life” public safety demonstration from the California Highway Patrol.
