The Rowland Unified School District Dual Language Immersion programs begin in Kindergarten and are open to students within Rowland Unified and to students that reside outside the District. Kindergarten is for children who will turn five (5) years of age on or before September 1, 2022 for the 2022-2023 school year.
Hurley Elementary School's Spanish Dual Language Immersion Program is open to all families in the Rowland Unified community. The high quality program is designed to provide English and Spanish speaking students with an exciting, enriching and challenging educational opportunity for 21st century learning. Students will learn to collaborate, communicate and think critically and creatively in all academic content areas in both languages.
Our goals include high levels of proficiency in speaking English and Spanish, high levels of academic proficiency in English and Spanish literacy and finally, an understanding of different cultures and development of high self esteem. Program benefits include obtaining academic excellence as outlined in the Common Core standards and being better prepared to meet the economic needs for the 21st center by being literate in one of the top languages in our world.
